How to repair and maintain the solid tires of the forklift?

Forklift tires are one of the most frequently worn-out parts on a forklift. Their flexibility, safety, and stability play a crucial role in the forklift's performance. Proper maintenance is essential for extending tire life and improving overall efficiency. Below are key guidelines for maintaining forklift tires:

  • Check Tire Condition Regularly: The condition of the tires directly impacts forklift efficiency and safety. Regularly inspect the tires for wear and tear.
  • Monitor Air Pressure: It is important to check the tire pressure regularly. Make sure to adjust the pressure at least once a month, especially under cold conditions or when carrying a load. Tire pressure should be checked more frequently during hot weather.
  • Protect Tires from Extreme Conditions: In hot weather, forklift tires should be shielded from direct sunlight. When not in use, park the forklift in a shaded or cool area, avoiding direct exposure to the sun. In winter, place a wooden board beneath the tires to prevent damage from cold ground. Avoid using cold water to cool down the tires.
  • Load and Speed Considerations: The speed and load of the forklift are inversely related to tire pressure. For uneven surfaces, you will need to increase the load and tire pressure to compensate.
  • Regular Maintenance: After 200 hours of operation, the forklift should undergo secondary maintenance. This includes cleaning the water tank and oil radiator, checking the frame for deformation, and inspecting the tires and other key components.

By following these steps, forklift tire life can be prolonged, improving safety and reducing maintenance costs.
